As a child, Dr. Tenisha McCaskill visited many nursing homes with her grandmother to sing and minister to patients. That experience, and the passing of a family friend, sparked within Dr. McCaskill a love for people and an interest in the human body and disease processes. As a physician today, she says, “It’s a joy to be an advocate for my patients. I empower them to take ownership of their health and longevity, and I get to see their victories—big and small. I also appreciate the wisdom and love that seniors exude.”
In her time off, Dr. McCaskill likes to dance, watch reality television, and travel to other countries on medical missions. Her favorite travel destination has been Bali, and she hopes to visit South Africa one day.
