About Valerie Mutchler-Fornili
Dr. Valerie Mutchler-Fornili is all about having a positive impact on others. It started with volunteer experiences and has continued through her years of work as a paramedic, physician, and educator at VCU.
Having lived with older family members since birth, she’s always been drawn to caring for seniors. Dr. Mutchler-Fornili sought out specialized training in geriatrics and studied the science of dementia for her master’s degree. She’s also board certified in family medicine and says, “Seniors are the most cherished part of any community, providing guidance and wisdom to all.”
When not with patients or medical students, she likes to expand her own medical knowledge, care for rescue animals, hike, bird-watch, garden, craft, and sing.
