Nephrology is a medical specialty that focuses on the diagnosis and treatment of kidney disease. Patients are referred to nephrologists for various reasons such as acute renal failure, chronic kidney disease, kidney stones and hypertension. As a JenCare patient, your Primary Care Physician (PCP) works closely with your nephrologist to coordinate your personal care plan and help keep your kidneys at their healthiest. That includes helping you manage conditions like diabetes, high blood pressure, heart disease and other health issues that can lead to or worsen kidney disease. Your JenCare PCP and nephrologist will always communicate with each other about your care and monitor any changes in your health.
