It may seem farfetched to hear a two-year-old predict her future, but that's precisely what Guameda Eady did. She knew then that she wanted to help others by becoming a nurse.
"I have a passion for teaching patients about their health," Guameda says. "Knowledge is power, and the more information patients have, the better they understand how important it is to be involved in their health care. They learn that managing their health can help them remain independent and enjoy a better quality of life over time. I love working with seniors. While I'm helping them, they're helping me learn more from their life experiences."
Guameda provides complete healthcare to her patients, including preventive care and treatment for chronic conditions. She is a passionate advocate for her patients and their families, helping to simplify the healthcare process and enjoy a better patient experience. She keeps up with the latest advances in medicine through continuous education and training, and collaborates with other JenCare physicians to deliver the best care to seniors.
Guameda earned her Bachelor's degree in nursing from Loyola University in Chicago, IL. After more than 21 years as a registered nurse, she earned her Master's degree from Olivet Nazarene University in Bourbonnais, IL, to become a family nurse practitioner.
Outside of the office, Gaumeda enjoys spending time with her husband, Gary, their children, Asia and Jalen, and her mother, Esther. She loves sports, especially football, likes to travel and hopes to visit Australia some day.
