For Dr. Hamdi Abdirahman, one of the greatest aspects of working in healthcare is “feeling like I’m making a difference in my patients’ lives.” She deeply values “continuity of care” and especially enjoys caring for the senior population. “Not everyone has the support they need,” she explains. She aims to build strong relationships with patients by having “dedicated time” with both patients and their families. If she could change anything about healthcare today, she would allow for physicians to have more time with their patients. To stay up to date with the newest medical discoveries, she reads journal articles.
