About Samira Ghaniwala
When Dr. Samira Ghaniwala moved to Pakistan in her teens, her eyes were opened to the lack of healthcare resources there. Wanting to help, she volunteered at many hospitals and camps, pursued medical school and ultimately specialized in geriatrics. “I truly enjoy getting to know my elderly patients and their families,” Dr. Ghaniwala says. “Growing up close to my grandparents and witnessing the impact of disease, I love putting seniors at ease by listening well, acknowledging their concerns and staying on top of their health.”
To keep up with the latest medical knowledge, Dr. Ghaniwala tries to read a journal article every day. She also likes to spend time with her husband and daughter, cook and travel.
