About Gabriel Vargas-Bodas
Dr. Gabriel Vargas-Bodas specializes in internal medicine but brings a wide-range of experience with him to JenCare. Over the course of his career, he has worked the ER and ICU, behavioral health, and even delivered babies. He received his bachelor’s degree in Biology from the Universidad of Puerto Rico before earning his medical degree from Universidad Nacional Pedro Henriquez Urena Medical School in the Dominican Republic. He has practiced medicine in Louisiana since 1992.
Dr. Vargas-Bodas’s favorite part of his profession is getting to work directly with his patients and the challenge of keeping them well and preventing illness. “Trying to be in the best possible physical and emotional health,” he says, is the key to this and also how he makes a positive impact on his patients.
In his spare time, Dr. Vargas-Bodas enjoys spending time with his wife and three daughters, tending his garden, reading and going to the movies.
